Being in every way like a human being, Christ Jesus was humbler yet, and became obedient to death, death on a cross. Therefore God raised him high and gave him the name which is above all other names.

Jesus said to his disciples: You did not choose me. No, I chose you.

Paul writes: Bear each other’s burdens and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.

Jesus said to the Samaritan woman: If you only knew what God is offering and who it is who is saying to you, “Give me something to drink”, you would have been the one to ask, and he would have given you living water.

Jesus said: My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. If anyone is prepared to do God’s will they will discover whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

Jesus, risen from the dead, appeared to his disciples and said: Go, make disciples of all nations. And surely I am with you always, to the end of time.

Joseph forgave his brothers saying: Do not be afraid. The harm you planned to do me has, by God’s design, been turned to good, to bring about the survival of a numerous people.

Glad to have had the honour of suffering for the name of Christ, the apostles continued to teach and proclaim the good news of Christ Jesus, both in the temple and in people’s homes.
